Immigrating to Quebec

Information session on the CSQ (Quebec Selection Certificate), and the steps to be taken between the time your finish your studies till the time you obtain permanent residence. Moderated by a representative from the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration (MIFI) and an immigration lawyer.

Renewing your immigration documents

This workshop will help you to navigate the renewal of immigration documents such as the CAQ, and the extension of your study permit. This is also a good opportunity to ask questions about your own situation.

Workshops and clinic to help with your tax returns

Students are advised to file a tax return, whether or not they have worked. See Tax obligations for international students.

 

Income Tax Prep: It Could Pay (You) Back!

Learn the basics of Canadian taxes, such as tax credits for students. You will get an opportunity to pose questions to an expert from the Canada Revenue Agency.

Tax clinic helps you file your taxes

Every year, students from the Société des relations d’affaires – HEC Montréal (SRA) help individuals complete their tax returns (even if the latter haven’t earned any money). 

See a schedule of dates

For the clinic, make sure you carry your Social Insurance Number (SIN) or an Individual Tax Number (ITN) .
