MSc student Fatoumata A dite Woybi Touré (Financial Engineering specialization) was awarded second prize for the quality of her research, at the 5th annual Mathematical Finance Days, held by the Institut de finance mathématique de Montréal (IFM2) on April 28 and 29.
Ms. Touré’s research, directed by Full Professor Georges Dionne (Finance), focused on an econometric model that can be used to determine the variables explaining business defaults in a Canadian bank’s small business credit portfolio. Her contribution consisted of testing the effectiveness of the model in predicting the dynamics of business defaults.
Ms. Touré is currently a modelling advisor with the Mouvement Desjardins.
