HEC Montréal won two awards at a case competition in California

April 28, 2014

The team of BBA students – Marie Daudelin, Angélique Emeric, Charles Grenier and Yanis Saheb – won two awards at the International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition held by The California State University, from April 24 to 26.

Coached by Guest Professor René Gendreau (Marketing), who is in charge of university competitions at HEC Montréal, the winning delegation took first place for “Outstanding Performance” and second place in the “Outstanding Reports” category. Close to 30 teams from around the world took part in the 50th edition of this huge case competition, spread out over 10 weeks.

The groups entered in the competition had the experience of running their own fictitious companies since February, making all the relevant strategic and operational decisions over a simulated five-year time span. They had to write a strategic business plan and an annual report, culminating with an oral presentation in California to a jury consisting of actual business executives.

Congratulations to the four students and their coach!
