HEC Montréal hosts the 2013 Academic Business Library Directors meeting

From May 13 to 15, HEC Montréal and McGill University hosted the 2013 meeting of the Academic Business Library Directors (ABLD). The event, held for the first time in Canada, brought together some forty directors of the leading university business libraries in North America.

The themes included trends and best practices in the field, technology applied to online teaching, learning and research, and innovative collaborative projects.

HEC Montréal Marketing Professor Christian Dussart presented his version of Academic Business Library 3.0 and his views on how to reach this goal by relying on the value added provided by university libraries to different segments of their clienteles. The topic sparked some lively discussions, clearly showing that reinventing the business model for university libraries is a major challenge for their directors.
