2013_AAPQ_bursary_DESSCMFor the 12th straight year, the Association of Quebec Advertising Agencies (AQAA) has awarded a merit scholarship to the Specialized Graduate Diploma in Marketing Communication student with the best two-year average in the program. For 2012-2013, the winner is Joannie Denault, a Strategic Planner with Taxi Montréal. She received the award at the cocktail reception to welcome the 14th GDMC cohort, held at HEC Montréal on August 29.

The $6,000 award will allow her to attend the 61st edition of the Cannes International Festival of Creativity, to be held from June 15 to 21, 2014. The other two finalists were Maggie Chabot (Manager, Internet Marketing, Vidéotron) and Marie-Luce Houde-Simard (Communications Advisor, Faculty of Dentistry, Université de Montréal).

The Specialized Graduate Diploma in Marketing Communication is the result of close collaboration between HEC Montréal and the AQAA. The Academic Supervisor for program is Associate Professor Pierre Balloffet (Marketing), also an associate member of Mosaic and the Media Centre. The program was launched in 2000 to train world-class communications and marketing experts. It is the only program of its kind, and is designed primarily for professionals with three to five years’ experience, allowing them to benefit from the knowledge, skills and strategic vision of the career professors and industry professionals involved.
