Andréanne Simard wins the AFFQ Relève award
April 20, 2012
MSc student (Finance option) Andréanne Simard is one of three winners of this year’s Relève award from the Association of Québec Women in Finance (AFFQ). The award was presented on April 19, at the annual AFFQ Gala, which also marked the Association’s 10th anniversary. The annual gala draws over 500 leaders from the finance community every year. This year’s event was hosted by Honorary Chair Julie Miville-Dechêne, President of the Conseil du statut de la femme.
The award will allow Andréanne to take a paid three-month internship with Desjardins, in Montréal. In addition to her full-time studies, she is currently working as Senior Analyst – Underwriting at the Business Development Bank of Canada. She made the winter 2011 MSc honour roll for achieving the top GPA in the Finance option.
The School often does well at the AFFQ gala. Last year this award went to Mélanie Dussarrat (BBA 2011), and in 2010, to Amélie Favaro (MSc 2011 and BBA 2009).
The AFFQ was created in 2002 to promote women’s professional advancement and highlight their strategic role in economic development in Quebec and worldwide. With over 350 active members, the Association is the first international chapter of the prestigious Financial Women's Association (FWA), created on Wall Street in 1956.
