The second Challenge des pros, a case competition organized by the association of graduate diploma students (AEDES), was held last weekend at the School. For the second straight year, three Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy (DESSCP) students took first place.
The three winners, Alexandre Louf, Philippe Delorme and Francis Kaden Corbo, share a $2,500 prize, while the second-place team of Gabriel Damant-Sirois, François Jarrossay and Laurie Bonnaud won $1,000. A $500 prize went to the third-place team of George Munteanu, Lazhar Souakri and Ivan Ramirez Herrera.
“The teams didn’t have much time to solve the business case they were given. They came up with plenty of interesting ideas, and it wasn’t easy to choose. Their proposals were excellent,” noted Graduate Diploma Programs Director Silvia Ponce.
The Challenge des pros continues to be very popular, attracting 10 teams and a total of 28 students for the 2011 edition. “The success of the second edition shows that this competition is a good opportunity to put what we have learned into practice,” emphasized Karim Aboulhamid, AEDES Executive Committee member.
The AEDES also wishes to thank the event’s partners, the HEC Montréal Foundation and Coop HEC Montréal, and the jury members:
