Over $2.5 Million in Scholarships and Bursaries in 2010-2011

HEC Montréal students received a total of $2,529,104 in scholarships and bursaries in 2010-2011.

Travel scholarships accounted for $397,000. Of this amount, $43,000 came from the HEC Alumni Foundation and $81,000 from donors to the HEC Montréal Foundation, and the rest from a Quebec government grant. These scholarships allowed 235 students from all levels to study or carry out research or humanitarian abroad under various programs, including the Passport to the World international exchange program, the Summer School on Management of Creativity in an Innovation Society, international research (MSc) and Campus Abroad courses. Our many generous donors made it possible to offer so many scholarships to HEC Montréal students.

Winter 2011 scholarships and bursaries

Scholarships
Scholarships totalling $373,300, all awarded thanks to the HEC Montréal Foundation, went to 165 students in the 2011 winter term. At a first award ceremony, on April 6, no fewer than 96 students received $291,300 in recognition of their excellent results. On April 27, a second award ceremony was held, at which 69 students received $82,000. The two events gave scholarship winners a chance to meet and chat with donors.

HEC Montréal scholarships
This term, 54 scholarships were awarded by the different program departments. The award ceremony was held on April 11. All in all, $181,074 in scholarships was awarded. Note that this amount includes scholarships awarded in the fall, but whose recipients were honoured in April.

Need-based bursaries
In addition, a number of need-based bursaries were awarded for students in financial need. In the winter term, a total of $92,250 went to 81 students, thanks to the generosity of donors to the HEC Montréal Foundation.
