Lots of Bursaries and Scholarships in Winter 2010

May 14, 2010

HEC Montréal students received $531,350 in financial assistance for the winter 2010 term, mainly in the form of scholarships and bursaries from the School. Many of them also received assistance enabling them to study abroad or for initiatives related to international studies. This brought travel scholarships to a total of $273,000 for the school year.

All in all, HEC Montréal students received a total of $2,261,100 for the 2009-2010 year.

Scholarships

A total of $390,350 in scholarships was handed out to 148 students for the 2010 winter term. Just over one-third of this amount, $135,500, was presented at a recognition ceremony on April 8, to 42 students whose excellent results had earned them a place on the honour rolls for their graduate or postgraduate programs. More scholarships were handed out on April 14, associated with 39 donors (see the list below), representing assistance of $254,850 for 124 students. (Some students received more than one merit scholarship.)

HEC Montréal Scholarships

Scholarships from the School, from the Programs Department, GRESI and other funds, totalled $135,500 for 42 students.

Travel scholarships

Thanks to our generous donors, we were able to present $273,000 in scholarships to students at all levels. This will allow them to study or carry out research or humanitarian projects abroad through various programs, including the Passport to the World international exchange program (BBA, (102 students) and MBA), the Summer School on Managing Creativity in an Innovation Society, international research (MSc), Campus Abroad courses for MBA students and MBAs Without Borders. On March 16, a cocktail reception was held by the School at its Le Cercle restaurant, to thank donors for all the travel scholarships for the 2009-2010 year (see the list below). It was also an opportunity for the students to express their gratitude and speak about the formative experiences this assistance made possible.
