HEC Montréal Focuses on Web Users

The School's new site designed to meet visitors' needs

December 11, 2008

HEC Montréal is launching an all-new version of its Website, reworked and updated to meet the needs of the School’s Web users. The new design was unveiled today for HEC Montréal staff and students.

“I am particularly proud of our new Website, since the Internet has long been an essential marketing showcase for our target audiences,” explained HEC Montréal Director Michel Patry. “Thousands of hours have gone into creating the School’s new signature Website, and many people have contributed their creativity and expertise. It is another fine example of the hard work and spirit of collegiality that are the hallmark of major projects at our School.”

The Electronic Communications Office wanted to offer a site that would meet Web users’ interests and needs, so it asked current and future students, alumni and faculty for their comments and suggestions. What would they like to see when browsing the School’s Website?

“The content on the new site is also organized to respond to the concerns expressed by the School’s Website advisory committee and academic program staff,” said Martine Lafleur, Director, Electronic Communications Office. “This includes external marketing objectives for recruiting new students, and greater user friendliness to help navigate among programs.”

In recent weeks, the main internal users of the site received training to familiarize them with the site and allow them to try it out. Their recommendations and comments were collected by the Website design team and integrated into the final product. Now that the dress rehearsal is over, the School is ready for opening night!
