Nearly $1.5 M in Scholarships for 46 Graduate and Postgraduate Students

For HEC Montréal students, 2008-2009 was a productive year in terms of awards from granting agencies: 46 students received awards to pursue their management studies at the graduate and postgraduate levels. All in all, they will receive close to $1.5 million in assistance from a number of granting agencies (SSHRC, NSERC, FQRNT, FQRSC and FRSQ), or about half a million more than last year. The IFM² will also be announcing award recipients in the coming weeks. The students were selected by independent juries of expert researchers, based on the exceptional quality of their university work focusing on social, economic and cultural issues.

Postgraduate scholarships

Nineteen students received postgraduate scholarships of $20,000 to $35,000 per year for periods of up to three years.

Graduate scholarships of $15,000 to $17,500 went to 23 MSc students.

HEC Montréal alumni also receive funding

Four School alumni pursuing graduate and postgraduate studies at other university institutions elsewhere in Canada or abroad have obtained scholarships from granting agencies on the strength of their academic records while they were at HEC Montréal.

Postgraduate scholarships

The three alumni below received postgraduate scholarships of $20,000 to $35,000 per year for periods of up to three years.

Graduate scholarship

François Sztuke, a Bachelor's in Business Administration (BBA) graduate, received a one-year SSHRC scholarship of $17,500.
