JCAE/AJPT: Professor Réal Labelle Receives the Best Paper Award

Professor Réal Labelle and two co-authors won the Best Paper Award at the 2008 Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics (JCAE) and Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory (AJPT) Joint Symposium held in Hong Kong on January 4 and 5. The distinction came with a prize of US$1,500, donated by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants

The two co-authors are Samir Trabelsi, who graduated from the PhD program at HEC Montréal in 2005, and is today a professor at Brock University, and Pascal Dumontier, a professor at the University of Geneva. The winning paper, which was Samir Trabelsi’s doctoral thesis, is entitled Incremental Voluntary Disclosure on Corporate Web Sites, Determinants and Consequences, and will be published in the Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics.

Professor Labelle is the holder of the Chair in Governance and Forensic Accounting, created at HEC Montréal in 2002, and a Full Professor with the Department of Accounting Studies. He holds a PhD in Management Science (Finance) from the École supérieure des affaires at the Université Grenoble II.
