Frequently asked questions

How can I use the scanning service?

We offer the service of digitizing chapters of a volume needed for your courses, about 15% of the total.

Within 24 to 48 hours, you will receive the requested documentation by email. 

Please send your requests to the following address: biblio.pret@hec.ca.

What are the library's opening hours?

Can I borrow documents?

HEC Montréal's active students and employees can borrow documents for a 30-day period, automatically renewable if no hold is placed on these documents.

In order to borrow documents, you must however place holds on them through our Sofia search engine, available on our website : https://www.hec.ca/en/library/index.html.

You will receive an availability notice in the next 24 to 48 hours and have 7 business days to come at the library get your documents.

The documents from the course reserves are available for local consultation only and for a three-hours period.

How can I return documents?

You can return your loans by dropping them in the book chute located on the 2nd floor on the DNA screen wall or by visiting the library's service desk.

What are the services offered by the Research Assistance Team?
