This hands-on training session will show you how to operate Excel’s advanced functions to streamline and optimize the budget management process. By the end of the seminar, you will have a better handle on Excel’s powerful, user-friendly and flexible features so you can prepare and track budgets efficiently and effectively. You will be able to put your new skills and tools to use immediately and with ease.

Menus and toolbars

  • Learn how to customize menus and toolbars using hyperlinks and simple macros to facilitate budgeting
  • Secure your data, taking into account inherent limitations in terms of data protection


  • Optimize the forecasting process using the Solver add-in
  • Use data validation to guide users in the data entry process


  • Prepare budgets in several different languages and currencies, without the need to create an unwieldy number of worksheets

Sensitivity analysis

  • Maximize the performance of your sensitivity tests using data tables, Goal Seek and Scenario Manage

Budget monitoring

  • Use filters, conditional formatting, forms controls and database functions to improve budget tracking
  • Laptops equipped with Excel 2007 will be provided for use by participants.
  • Concrete examples will be used to illustrate each of the steps involved.
