As a co-founder and managing partner at Borealis Global Asset Management, Valérie is responsible for fundamental sustainable research and investment process, corporate governance and engagement, as well as the firm’s link to the global sustainable finance ecosystem.

After over 25 years of experience as a successful portfolio manager at large institutional and retail organizations, Valerie has decided to fully dedicate her time to help advance the investment profession on its journey to responsible investing. She was most recently at a large asset management firm where she managed of one of the oldest and largest SRI funds in Canada for which she delivered both top financial and sustainability performance while also leading the ESG integration effort within her Equity team.

Valerie has received many rewards, including Fund Data Awards for the performance of her US midcap fund in 2015 and 2016, the title of Portfolio Manager of the year in 2016 in Québec by Financial Executives, and the CPA Emerite Award in 2019 by CPA Québec.

Valerie holds a master’s in finance, is a CFA chartered holder and a CPA, and was the first portfolio manager in Canada to obtain the FSA designation from SASB.
