Pascal Bédard

Full-Time Lecturer, HEC Montréal

BSC (Mathematics)

A business economist, advisor, trainer and speaker, Pascal Bédard began his career as a programmer analyst, project manager and business analyst at Oracle Corporation and the Government of Canada, after earning an Honours BSc in mathematics.

He then moved on from the world of IT, enrolling in a master’s degree in economics. He subsequently joined the Bank of Canada’s international affairs team as an economist. In this position, he helped develop a clearer understanding of global financial markets and how they interconnect, in addition to the inner workings of the real economy in Asia, Europe and North America, and the causes and consequences of major international trends.

As a full-time lecturer at HEC Montréal since July 2021, he has focused on currency and financial markets, world economic conditions and the main macrofinancial factors influencing global developments.
