Michel Vézina is a professor in the Department of Accounting Sciences. His research and teaching interests include budget control practices used in Quebec businesses and the impact of information technology on management control. His teaching focuses on management control, budget control and information technology.
He has served as the academic supervisor for the specialized graduate diploma (DESS) in public accounting and was in charge of developing the DESS in professional accounting – CPA, following the merger of the accounting orders. From June 2013 to June 2019, he acted as the faculty administrator for certificate programs and, in 2014, he was presented with the HEC Montréal award for teaching excellence. He received the prestigious Fellow CPA designation that same year.
He has published a variety of articles, business cases and research papers and is the author of several books and teaching case studies.
