As a communications consultant for the CIUSSS du Nord-de-l’Île-de-Montréal, Raphaëlle Joo was interested in learning more about influence tactics and strategies. Her boss often talked about the excellent seminar she’d taken on political skills at Executive Education HEC Montréal.
After reading the course description on the website, Raphaëlle was sold. “I work in health care, a field with a complex organizational structure and multiple layers of management that ultimately report to the ministry. I wanted to get training in political skills to complement the communication skills I already had.”
When asked how she liked the course, Raphaëlle responded enthusiastically that the two-day seminar was highly instructive and engaging and that she really enjoyed learning the ins and outs of political manoeuvring.
Of her professor, Pierre Lainey, she said: “He is an exceptional teacher and clearly passionate about the topic. He knows the material inside out and understands the best ways to share his knowledge. It was a wonderful experience and a privilege to be in his class.”
Raphaëlle returned to work with new expertise in organizational politics, and now she’s applying the techniques she learned to her job. She recommends this seminar for any professional, manager or executive. “This course would be an asset for anyone, no matter what business or field they’re in.”
