Events to organize

Delegates are expected to contribute to HEC Montréal’s international visibility by optimizing Alumni HEC Montréal’s lineup of activities and providing opportunities for local alumni to connect. They agree to plan two or more events during the course of the year. The volunteer position is for a two-year term.
Delegates may, for example:

  • Organize an annual social event for local HEC Montréal alumni (cocktail reception, breakfast, etc.)
  • Arrange a talk or presentation by a visiting professor, alum, researcher or HEC Montréal administrator
  • Participate in activities organized by the local Quebec government office or Canadian embassy and invite other alumni to attend
  • Maintain and strengthen ties with other representatives of Quebec/Canadian universities and work with them to plan joint events.

Associates are expected to contribute to HEC Montréal’s international visibility and serve as a point of contact for alumni looking for information or support abroad. The volunteer position is for a one-year term.
The support offered by international associates may include the following:

  • Present alumni to local business contacts.
  • Welcome alumni into the HEC Montréal network at the regional level
  • Meet alumni who are new to the region to facilitate their integration, support their job search efforts, share their experience and/or help them adapt their résumé to suit local conventions
  • Provide assistance to faculty members in organizing work-related trips or launching academic projects in the area
  • Identify local internship opportunities for HEC Montréal students
  • Identify local academic competitions of interest to HEC Montréal students.
