The Information Technology and Knowledge Management (ITKM) department provides strategic leadership on information technology and knowledge management at HEC Montréal. In accordance with HEC Montréal’s development and growth objectives, the department oversees the selection, development, acquisition, roll-out and maintenance of the technological solutions and platforms required for teaching, research and management activities. The department is tasked with improving efficiency and overall effectiveness at HEC Montréal through the judicious use of technology, and applies a structured approach to managing the school’s knowledge.
In order to bolster HEC Montréal’s profile as a world-class business school and leader on the information technology front, the department proactively studies the needs of the university community and continuously monitors emerging technologies. In partnership with HEC Montréal’s various departments and faculties, the ITKM department promotes an in-depth understanding of the school’s needs and expectations with respect to information technology and knowledge management. Consequently, it proposes and implements appropriate solutions for the business needs of a wide variety of internal and external clients. It also plans changes to HEC Montréal’s technological infrastructure so that it may continue supporting the school’s mission and advises the school’s principal on the matter.
