Internship in France: European certification

If you hold or are working toward a Master’s in Management (MSc) from HEC Montréal, you can earn a European certification. This attestation will give you a foot in the door of the European labour market and help you meet French legal requirements concerning post-diploma internships.


To obtain this attestation, you must:

  • have completed your MSc in the past 6 months or less or be in the process of earning your degree (coursework completed and initial version of your thesis or supervised project report submitted);
  • start your internship within 6 months of completing your program;
  • carry out a 6-month internship (or internships of a cumulative length of 6 months, within 2 terms) in a European Union country;
  • be registered for the “European certification” internship (3 credits) and pay the related tuition fees;
  • submit your report to your program administration;
  • keep in mind that only one certification is possible;
  • follow the administrative procedures for registration, declaring the completion of your internship, and validation.

Upon completing your internship, you must submit the following documents to your program administration (suite 5.450 in the Côte-Ste-Catherine building or by email):


You must complete the application for official documents, indicating “Attestation for European certification” in the Comments section and specifying the complete address where the attestation is to be mailed.

After validating the information, the School will mail you the attestation.
