It is mandatory for all international students to join the health insurance provided by HEC Montréal for the duration of their stay at the school.
One possible exception: the replacement of the Sun Life Financial health insurance under the free health insurance plan of Québec (RAMQ) for eligible international students. If you are eligible, you should learn about the steps to take before your departure.

A group insurance plan is made available by your student association as a complement to Quebec’s provincial health insurance plan (RAMQ) and the SunLife Financial health insurance plan.
As an HEC Montréal student, you will automatically be billed for the following complementary insurance plans by your student association:
You are free to withdraw from this insurance plan. You can make a withdrawal request by consulting the ASEQ website.
It can take up to one week for the withdrawal request to arrive and your HEC en ligne file to be updated.
