This financial assistance program provides grants for the creation of part-time student jobs on campus. The grants cover 100 % of a student’s salary (hourly wage and benefits).
- You must be a full-time student during the fall and winter terms. During the summer term, you must be enrolled in at least six (6) credits worth of summer courses or have been enrolled as a full-time student during the winter term with plans to register as a full-time student in the fall term.
- Your grade point average must meet or exceed the minimum requirements set out by your program of study.
- You must be subject to the differential tuition fees charged to international students. In other words, those who are already exempt from the differential tuition fees are not eligible.
Campus work-study rules
- The educational establishments must set their own eligibility criteria for potential beneficiaries, decide on the type of work to be performed by the beneficiary, create wage standards that can vary on a case-by-case basis, and select the terms of payment.
- However, the maximum value of the salary paid within the program cannot exceed the tuition fees paid by the beneficiary over the term of the budget year in question (fall, winter and summer).
- Under the program, the number of work hours cannot exceed 15 hours a week (exceptions for summer semester).
- No restrictions are placed on the type of work a beneficiary can do, as long as it is done on campus.
- Payment of a salary as part of this program in no way conflicts with any other form of grant, subsidy or other salary. However, each educational establishment is free to set its own rules on this matter.
- Approach a professor or department to request work during the summer, fall or winter term.
- Together with the professor or department, complete the form (dynamic PDF - 136 Ko - in French only). The hiring professor or department must commit to provide you with a certain number of hours of work per week.
- Include an attestation of full-time studies and a document attesting to the fact that you are paying differential tuition fees for the academic year in progress.
- Obtain a social insurance number (SIN).
- Submit the application package to the Student Services office before the deadline.
- Your application will be examined to determine whether you meet the eligibility conditions and that sufficient funds are available in the budget to meet the request. You will receive a response within a week of submitting your application.
