Administrative fees are invoiced to all students. These fees are used to cover the cost of forms, official documents, notices and documentation.
Administrative fees are $39.43 per term.
Copibec fees are used to purchase the licence HEC Montréal is required to have in order to distribute packages of photocopied articles or book chapters. This license is equivalent to paying copyright fees. This fee has already been added to the cost of the codices. From now on, the fee payable will be based on the number of credits. In return, the cost of the codices will no longer be surcharged.

M.Sc. - thesis : $4.88 per term for the first 4 terms only
Ph.D. : $4.65 per term for the first 6 terms only
This voluntary donation is supported by the Comité permanent des présidentes et présidents des associations étudiantes (the permanent committee of student association presidents).
The fees are:
All programs (except M.Sc.-thesis and Ph.D.) : $1.00 per credit, up to a maximum to $10.00 per term
M.Sc. - thesis and Ph.D. : $10.00 per term
This donation is deductible under the terms of the Canada Income Tax Act and will appear on the student’s federal and provincial tuition tax receipts (T2202A and Relevé 8, respectively).
You have the right to withhold your contribution to the fundraising campaign by sending written notice of such, before paying your invoice, by e-mail to campagne@hec.ca. You must include the following information: your name and HEC Montréal student number, and the term to which your request applies.
By paying your invoice in full, you agree to contribute voluntarily to the fundraising campaign.
The University has obtained a copyright licence from the Harvard Business School Publishing Corporation. This licence applies not only to works published by the Harvard Business School itself, but also to all publications it distributes. This agreement is beneficial to the University and to its students, who will no longer be required to pay copyright and licensing fees (currently included in students’ codices fees, or paid up-front in the case of MBA students).
HBSP fees depend on your program :

M.Sc.-Thesis : $2.68 per term
Ph.D. : $2.55 per term
Other programs : $0.51 per credit

All student organizations must have liability insurance coverage for their activities. Every year, Student Services negotiates an insurance plan on behalf of all student organizations and pays the premium and the special assessment required of all registered students. Moreover, when taking part in off-campus activities, student organizations must request a policy endorsement (rider) and pay the applicable premium.
These fees amount to 75 cents for the fall and winter terms and 50 cents for the summer term.
These fees cover such things as the customized structure created for certain students’ profiles, the measures implemented as part of the anti-plagiarism campaign, promotional activities including various contests and recognition events in which HEC Montréal and its students are ranked, and activities related to supervising students registered in the various programs.
The supervision and promotion fees are:
Preparatory year: $8.77 per credit
B.B.A., graduate certificate (D.E.S.S.) and coaching: $4.38 per credit
Certificate: $1.08 per credit
M.S.E.C., LL.M. and M.Sc. (supervised project option): $6.57 per credit

Under agreements between HEC Montréal and the associations representing students enrolled at the school, these fees are compulsory and vary according to program. In case of a disagreement, please contact your student association.

As an HEC Montréal student, you will automatically be billed for the student association health and dental insurance plan. However, you are free to withdraw from the plan simply by completing and submitting a withdrawal request.
This group insurance plan was first made available by your student association in fall 2010 as a complement to Quebec’s provincial health insurance plan (RAMQ).

Withdrawal |

Students who fail to submit their withdrawal request before the deadline will be required to pay the entire year’s premium.
International students |
As an international student, you are covered only by the dental portion of your student association’s insurance plan. However, some students with a health insurance card issued by the government of Quebec may also register for the health coverage.

These fees are used to cover a portion of the costs involved in maintaining and developing Student Services and Career Management Services activities.
Moreover, through an agreement between HEC Montréal and Université de Montréal, HEC Montréal students are free to use Université de Montréal’s sports facilities, CEPSUM. Access to CEPSUM depends on the number of credits in which a student is enrolled. Students enrolled in fewer than 12 credits are required to pay a supplemental fee, which is determined by and collected at CEPSUM. Remember to bring your student ID!
HEC Montréal students will continue to benefit from the services of the Student Financial Aid (SFA) office, Career Management Services (CMS) and International Student Affairs (ISA).

Important: To use our technological infrastructure and access the network, students must make sure, when purchasing equipment, that it meets all HEC Montréal standards. In some courses, students may be required to purchase special software. For security reasons, students are required to keep their computer’s operating system and antivirus software up to date. HEC Montréal reserves the right to deny access to the school’s computer resources to anyone whose equipment does not meet the school’s standards.
Technology fees are $15.00 per credit for all programs except the M.Sc. - thesis stream and Ph.D. programs, for which the fees are $112.50 per term.
