Financial and Strategic Accounting

The M.Sc. in Financial and Strategic Accounting is intended mainly for students who have completed the Short CGA Graduate Program in Public Accountancy or equivalent.  This purpose of this stream is to train high-level financial information managers for both the private and public sectors. The strategic nature and increasing complexity of management and corporate financial data reporting requires exhaustive training in this field.

The program consists of 15 credits in the graduate micro-program, which is open to students preparing for the Ordre des CGA du Québec’s professional examinations. The rest of the program is made up of another 30 credits. Once they have completed their course work, the candidates write a thesis or a supervised project report dealing with an issue linked to financial and strategic accounting.

The M.Sc. in Financial and Strategic Accounting is a program that meets a specific need expressed by professional CGAs. This program will benefit from the synergies to result from the new professorship in strategic financial information created in spring 2008 in conjunction with the Ordre des CGA du Québec.
