Admission criteria

Prerequisites
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.)
  • Undergraduate degree in another field
  • A degree deemed equivalent by the program director
Minimum GPA A minimum of 3.0 on 4.3, or the minimum GPA for admission to the graduate programs at the student’s university of origin. 
Languages and required test

 option offered in English

  • Candidates who have never completed a program of study in English must take one of the following English language tests:
    • HEC Montréal’s Test of Proficiency in English (HECTOPE)
    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
    • International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

options offered in French

  • For those who have never studied in French, the Test de français international (TFI).
    A score of at least 850 on the TFI is required for admission or a score of B2 or more on the DELF or the TCF.
Other admission tests None

Note: Admissions are based on the strength of applications. However, as there is a cap on the number of students admitted to the program, not all eligible applicants can be accepted.

(1) International students with a study Permit will be charged an additional $175 due to a more complex admission process.  

Application fees are non-refundable and subject to change without notice.

Required documentation

 

Master of Science in Administration

School record
  • originals of all official, complete and detailed transcripts, or copies certified by the school(s) in question1;
  • photocopy of your degrees attesting to your previous university studies1;
  • list of courses currently being taken but which do not appear on the transcript (point out the name of the school and the term in question for each course).
Others documents
  • proof of your professional titles (order, association, etc.), if applicable;
  • two letters of recommendation (preferably from professors).

Tests
(if applicable)
Official results obtained. Only results from tests taken somewhere other than HEC Montréal must be sent to us directly from the organization that gave them.

    Candidates who have completed a secondary-level, collegial or university program of studies in English are exempt from taking an English test.

  • TFI (required of candidates who have not studied in French).

    Briefly describe your theme or research interests.

  • Your status define your tuition fees and your admission to a tuition fee exemption, if applicable. If we do not receive the proof of your status, international fees will be charged.

  • valid passeport of the French republic
    or
  • valid national identity card of the French republic

  • Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ), delivered by Immigration-Québec

  • Student permit, delivered by Immigration Canada


Sending documents

  • Deadline: five (5) days after your application for admission
  • For any document not drafted in French or English, an official translation certified by:
  • the consulate or embassy of your country of origin or
  • a member of Ordre des traducteurs du Québec (OTTIAQ)
  • All documents submitted become the property of HEC Montréal and will not be returned to the candidate.
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  • No confirmation will be given concerning the receipt of the documents.

 Outcome of the analysis by post: four (4) to six (6) weeks after the admission deadline. For the Ph.D. program, the waiting time can be up to 10 weeks.

 

  • Online transmission

    To accelerate the process of your admission file, an electronic copy of the official transcripts must be sent together with your application at DocumentsEnLigne@hec.ca. However, submission of the original or certified copies of the transcripts is required if your receive an offer of acceptance from HEC Montréal.

    If you apply online, you should send all your documents by answering the acknowledge receipt of HEC Montréal (do not create a new email).

     

    IMPORTANT: please use a resolution of between 100 and 300 dpi.
