In March 2006, the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the independent organization that manages the GMAT, conducted a survey of 6139 MBA students at 147 universities. HEC Montréal’s MBA students expressed their satisfaction:
"For me, the supervised consulting field project was a key part of the HEC Montréal MBA. It allowed me to dive right into the real world, apply some of the concepts I’d learned during the program, and test my ideas against those of my team members. All the while, I was able to take advantage of the expertise of the professor supervising our project. Carrying out such a huge strategic project in only five weeks was quite the challenge, but one that really paid off.”

“You couldn’t ask for a more stimulating educational environment. In every course, I was confronted with other cultures, different ways of doing things, and world views and approaches to business that were different from my own. Working closely with students of countless nationalities gave me an awareness of the economic, political, social and cultural challenges faced by managers and organizations in other countries. This awareness is an invaluable asset.”

“What struck me most when I arrived at HEC Montréal was the cultural diversity. I studied with students from all over the globe, and like me, they were all hungry for new experiences. That’s what motivated me to get involved with the student association by becoming its president. Looking back, I’m really impressed by the number of students who took part in organizing so many kinds of activities. Their enthusiasm brought a lot to school life, and enriched my MBA experience. Today, I am awed by the wealth of the network of contacts we built, which will benefit us throughout our professional life.”

“Today’s leading organizations are knocking down the barriers, both geographic and between disciplines, that used to interfere with their development. The HEC Montréal MBA puts great emphasis on the issues linked to globalization, and takes an interdisciplinary, all-encompassing and global approach to management. As such it is in tune with the way these organizations stand out from the rest, by focusing on sharing knowledge, versatility and networking. The MBA is also a perfect opportunity to forge lasting bonds with tomorrow’s leaders from around the world, in every field.”
Stéphane Ethier (MBA in Action 2006)

“The opportunity to work on a real business problem as part of the supervised consultation project, and then to present our findings and recommendations to the directors of the company, was one of the most meaningful aspects of the MBA. But this project wouldn’t have been nearly as fruitful if it wasn’t for the team effort carried out with colleagues whose professional and personal backgrounds were so varied. Simply pooling our different perspectives enabled us to grasp the problem from several angles, which enriched everyone’s individual contributions. That, to me, is one of great strengths of the HEC Montréal MBA.”
