HECTOPE is a language test designed to measure business English skills. It assesses candidates’ ability to understand and use English as a language of communication in an academic and professional setting.
Candidates wishing to improve their chances of success are encouraged to take the
Self-diagnostic test and a
previous HECTOPE test.
Candidates living in Quebec
The test can be taken only at HEC Montréal.

Candidates living outside Quebec
Candidates living outside Quebec can substitute the test with one of the following English tests:
- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
- IELTS (International English Testing System)
