Definition


The GRE (Graduate Record Examination) mainly assesses candidates’ ability to reason and analyze by, among other things, having them write a text based on reasoned arguments; the test also evaluates more quantitative skills.

The GRE is offered at test centres. It cannot be taken at HEC Montréal.

Candidates are encouraged to register for the test approximately three or four weeks before the test date.

Sending scores to HEC Montréal


Official scores are usually available around 10 days after the test. The code used for HEC Montréal is 7384.

Candidates are responsible for submitting their test scores, which are essential for the analysis of their application, by no later than the admission application deadline (French only).
