Professionals in specialized fields - engineering, IT, medicine, nursing, accounting, law, financial analysis, sales, social work, teaching and so forth - have many management-related challenges to deal with. But how is it possible to reconcile the demands, knowledge and skills inherent in one's profession with those associated with management? This program addresses the transition between the role of the professional and the role of professional/manager.

The following key questions will be discussed and answered:

  • As a professional occupying a management role, how much distance do I have to put between myself and activities and projects that are directly related to my field and that have contributed to my personal credibility?
  • Can I be a coach and still play on the front line?
  • How exactly do I go about delegating tasks to my co-workers instead of doing them myself?
