Risk is a constant in every project and every activity an organization undertakes. As business environments have become more and more complex and uncertain, risk management has evolved into the number-one priority for many executives. This is even more critical for small and medium-sized companies, which are more vulnerable to risk. When approached from a practical and rigorous perspective, project risk management is a powerful tool that empowers executives to anticipate events. As a result, they can take advantage of circumstances as they arise, rather than simply react to them.

Among the measurable benefits of effective project risk management for today’s companies are:

  • A more systematic approach to achieving the goals of business initiatives (growth, acquisition, restructuring, offshoring, new products, IT projects, construction, etc.)
  • The ability to take calculated risks and improve performance
  • Reduction and even avoidance of losses
  • More efficient access to capital.
