Program and content |
| This course is designed to enable participants to acquire the knowledge necessary to maximize their chances of passing the PRM™ exams administered by PRMIA. The course consists of 12 three-hour classes from November 2012 to April 2013. The curriculum covers the four required exams in the specified order. Offering a maximum of flexibility, the participants may complete each exam separately once the corresponding section has been completed, write two exams at two sittings or all four exams at once. Given the extensive scope of the PRM program, this course will concentrate primarily on the important concepts and the one that are known to be more problematic for candidates. Expert instructors will focus on common pitfalls and how to avoid them and provide advice designed to help candidates perform well on the exams. Each session will feature sample exams in simulated conditions, with an emphasis on effective test-taking strategies. |

Dear Candidate,
HEC Montréal preparatory course for the Professional Risk Manager (PRM™) exams will begin in November.
Market integration, the financial crisis and various financial scandals in recent years have made it increasingly necessary for corporations to pay closer attention to manage and control various processes and internal and external variables. Research into this field has led to advances in the insurance industry and fostered the development of the booming field of risk management. Today’s executives must deal with a wide range of new issues and challenges in this regard, and a number of professional designations have recently emerged as a result.
The PRM designation was developed by risk management researchers and professionals and is known and respected worldwide. The Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA) and its various chapters are very active in the promotion of risk management standards as well as practical and fundamental research initiatives.
PRMIA membership has been rising sharply in recent years. This reflects a growing standard of professional excellence and the need to be well versed in internationally accepted risk management policies and practices. Our qualified instructors will help you acquire this knowledge and, in so doing, provide you with an invaluable opportunity to network with other members of this fast-growing professional community.
