Full Professor Réal Jacob (Entrepreneurship and Innovation) has just been appointed to the Board of the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Société et culture (FRQSC), adding to the HEC Montréal presence in this group, along with PhD student Louis-François Brodeur.
The mission of the FRQSC, considered the leading university research fund in Quebec, is to promote and provide financial support for research and the dissemination of scientific knowledge in fields of research relating to social sciences and humanities and to education, management, arts and literature. It is an agency of the Quebec government and is administered by a board of directors whose members are appointed by the Cabinet.
Réal Jacob has been with the School since 2001, and is also the co-Director of the “Catalytic Mindset” module of the McGill - HEC Montréal EMBA, as well as a member of the Centre for Research on Organizational Transformation (CETO), Mosaic and the Health Research Centre (Pôle santé HEC Montréal). His work focuses on organizational transformation and change management, cross-functional and collaborative management, knowledge management and the manager’s role.
In 2012, he won the innovation and knowledge transfer award from CEFRIO. In 2015, a paper that he co-authored with professors Line Dubé and Anne Bourhis was ranked among the top 100 “Citation classics” published in knowledge management journals. That same year, Professor Jacob received both the Esdras Minville Award from the School in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the renown of HEC Montréal, and the Roger Charbonneau Award, as co-author of Paroles de PDG.
