The members of the HEC Montréal community were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Hubert Barbeau (HEC 1954) on September 3.

A proud HEC Montréal graduate, Mr. Barbeau was saluted as a Distinguished alumnus of the School in 1996, in addition to sitting on its Board of Directors and serving as Chair of the Board from 2000 to 2004.

“I was very sad to hear that Hubert Barbeau has left us. His work as a member of our Board of Directors made a valuable contribution to the School’s development,” said HEC Montréal Director Michel Patry.

From 1996 to 2000, Mr. Barbeau chaired the Board of Directors of Multi-Marques, a large baked goods company of which he was the founding President and CEO up until 1990. He also sat on several other boards, including those of CME Multimédia and the Pointe-à-Callière Museum Foundation.

All the members of the HEC Montréal community join in offering their most sincere sympathy to Mr. Barbeau’s family and friends.
