Relais HEC Montréal 2014 raises nearly $100,000

June 9, 2014

On June 7 and 8, 120 members of the HEC Montréal community ran in a 24-hour, 250-km relay race between Quebec City and Montreal. This third edition of the Relais HEC Montréal race, organized by the HEC Montréal Foundation, raised nearly $100,000 in donations, which will be used to offer bursaries to young people in need so that they can continue their university studies and to support various projects at the School.

The 120 runners – teaching and other staff, alumni and students – were divided into nine teams and relayed each other over distances of 5 to 10 km, non-stop, day and night. You can still encourage them by donating online, until June 30.

The Foundation takes this opportunity to thank all the runners, volunteers, donors and sponsors. The race was the brainchild of Pierre Saint-Laurent, Full-time Lecturer (Finance), in 2012. Last year, 60 runners raised upwards of $50,000.
