Michel Patry’s Appointment as HEC Montréal Director Renewed

November 21, 2014

Hélène Desmarais, Chair of the HEC Montréal Board of Directors, is pleased to announce that Michel Patry’s appointment as Director of the School has been renewed.

“I am delighted to inform you that yesterday, November 20, the HEC Montréal Board of Directors renewed the appointment of Michel Patry as HEC Montréal Director.

“Mr. Patry, whose 2nd term will end on June 30, 2015, will now have until June 30, 2019, to complete the work he has started.

“On behalf of the members of the Board of Directors, I wish to emphasize that HEC Montréal has made great strides under Mr. Patry’s leadership. Under his direction, since he took the helm in September 2006, the School’s teaching, research and knowledge transfer activities and the work of the HEC Montréal Foundation have come a long way, and numerous strategic partnerships have been signed with Canadian and International universities.

“What is more, Mr. Patry has managed to steer the School through a difficult period marked by government funding cuts. Despite these constraints, the School finished the 2013-2014 fiscal year with a balanced budget. The members of the Board of Directors are convinced that a 3rd term will allow him to guarantee a solid and lasting future for the different projects that will confirm the School’s leadership.

The Board of Directors assures Mr. Patry of its support for this third term. I invite you to join me in congratulating him most sincerely on the renewal of his appointment.”
