María Morfín-Gutiérrez honoured for her remarkable contribution to international business

September 29, 2014

Full-time Lecturer María Morfín-Gutiérrez was presented with the award for a socially engaged professional by the Chambre de commerce latino-américaine du Québec (CCLAQ) as part of its entrepreneurship contest, for her major and significant contribution to education in the field of international business in Quebec and Latin America. She received this honour at the 2014 Gala des Amériques, held by the CCLAQ on September 23. The Gala is the main recognition event for Latin-American businesspeople in Quebec.

The entrepreneurship contest is an exceptional forum for spotlighting the economic integration, development and contribution of the Latin American community in Quebec. María Morfín-Gutiérrez has made a huge contribution, in particular through her collaboration with the HEC Montréal Department of International Business on the redesign, implementation and academic development of the Certificate in International Business, offered at the School since fall 2009. Ms. María Morfín-Gutiérrez holds a PhD from the Université de Paris X Nanterre and has been teaching at the School for over seven years now. She previously worked for many years in international trade for small and large companies in at least six countries.
