HEC Montréal supports the Polytechnique community on the 25th anniversary of the tragedy of December 6

December 3, 2014

The HEC Montréal community is joining with the Polytechnique community to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the terrible tragedy that took place at its sister institution on December 6, 1989.

The Polytechnique has taken a number of initiatives to commemorate this tragedy, including the first edition of the Week of the White Rose. This annual fundraising campaign, now underway, invites everyone to make a donation by purchasing and giving virtual white roses, the symbol of the Polytechnique’s commemorative activities.

In tribute to the victims, the injured, the professors, employees and students who found themselves in the midst of this tragedy, Saturday, December 6 will begin with a commemorative ceremony and continue with several special group activities, including a walk on Mount Royal, a vigil and a concert. We invite our whole community to join in this movement of solidarity and hope.
