HEC Montréal students win the Statistical Society of Canada competition

June 4, 2014

MSc (Business Intelligence specialization) students Jean-Philippe Mallette, Hervé Mensah, Imad Yanni and Ghislene Zerguini won the 2014 Case Studies in Data Analysis Poster Competition held by the Statistical Society of Canada. The HEC Montréal delegation beat out 11 teams of MSc and PhD students from other Canadian universities. They were presented with the award at the Society’s Annual Meeting, held in Toronto from May 25 to 28.

For this competition, the four HEC Montréal students had four months to analyze the data set from a mobile social game. At the Annual Meeting they presented a summary of the methods used and their findings, in poster form.

Congratulations to the team and their coach, Jean-François Plante, Associate Professor!
