School students win the KreateNow contest!

October 6, 2014

“How could you improve your university with $2,000?” That was the theme of the KreateNow contest organized by the Kreate company. Out of the more than 70 entrants, it was Startup Lab, the student committee from HEC Montréal, that was chosen as the grand prize winner on October 3, after a vote by thousands of students from Concordia University, HEC Montréal, the Université de Montréal and UQAM.

Startup Lab, founded to encourage students to put their entrepreneurial and technological ideas into practice, consists of seven BBA students: Nicolas Bon, Éliot Boucher-Rioux, Vincent Charland, Laurence Oliva, Tess Scott, Félix Séguin and Nick-Patrick St-Julien, plus Phillip Lieng, a student from the Certificate in Professional Accounting program. With the $2,000 prize money they will offer seven workshops on how to launch a startup, from coming up with an idea to approaching investors. The workshops will be led by experienced professionals, who will give their answers to questions from HEC Montréal student entrepreneurs.
