Professor Hugues Boisvert (Accounting) recently launched Gérer la performance financière de la PME, published by Éditions JFD. The book offers the heads of small and medium-size businesses an original version of two financial management tools essential for any business: a dashboard and a budget.
“These two tools may be well known, but they are often ill-adapted to the very specific context in which small and medium-size businesses find themselves when it comes to making decisions,” Professor Boisvert points out. “Yet, these businesses have to constantly innovate in order to remain original and competitive. They must also be administered both efficiently and effectively and for that they need simplified, inexpensive management tools to help them in their decision making.”
The dashboard outlined in the new book is designed to give the heads of small and medium-size businesses financial indicators that correspond to their priorities. The budget is integrated with the recording of earnings, adding unrivalled flexibility to adjust cash flow to changing plans. Accounting, cash management and decision making can all be synchronized with these specially adapted tools.
Professor Boisvert, FCPA, FCMA, has a PhD in Engineering Economic Systems and a Master’s in Operations Research from Stanford University, in California, and an undergraduate degree in commerce (Management Sciences) from HEC Montréal.
