2013 Financial Open Cup: HEC Montréal takes first place

For the second year running, the HEC Montréal Bachelor’s of Business Administration (BBA) student delegation took first place overall in the Financial Open Cup, held at the UQAR-Lévis campus from February 1 to 3. All in all, nearly 270 students from 10 member institutions of the Students' Association of Management Faculties of Eastern Canada (SAMFEC) took part in the 2013 edition of the interuniversity competition, organized for students specializing in finance and accounting.

Our sincere congratulations to the HEC Montréal delegation, headed by the competition committee, for this terrific victory: Jean-Christophe Aubert, Jasmyn Beauséjour, Tristan Blass-Lalumière, Alexandre Buissières, Philippe Caron, Catherine Despaties, Vincent Forbes, Arianne Gravel, Catherine Groulx, Emilie Hayet, Emilie Greene, Annabelle Lafortune, Charles Lamarre, François Lapointe, Gabriel Laurin, Gabriel Lavoie, Béatrice Leduc-Huot, Louis-Mathieu Marcoux, Annie-Claude McMullin, Viviane Mercier-Donatelli, Maxime Nonglaton and Chloé Raby-Roussel.

They were supported by four volunteers from the School – Benjamin Benhamou, Vincent Lévesque, Victoria Smaniotto and Edmond Vlandis – and co-ordinator Patricia Boisclair. The delegation wishes to thank Joachim Coste, Karine Côté, René Gendreau, Mathieu Joubert, Simon Lapointe, Jacques Lemay, Sophie Marmousez and Charles Perron-Piché for the hours they spent training the teams.

 

About the Financial Open Cup

The Financial Open Cup, created in 2005, consists of five accounting and finance case competitions (Managerial Accounting, Financial Accounting, Market Finance, Corporate Finance and Taxation), in addition to a stock market simulation and a finance quiz.
