Pierre Saint-Laurent wins the CAIA Leadership Award

Pierre_SaintLaurent_eAt the 4th annual Leadership Awards dinner of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analysts (CAIA) Association, held in London, England on November 21, Full-time Lecturer Pierre Saint-Laurent (Finance) was presented with the Leadership Award for Excellence in Alternative Investment Education.

Mr. Saint-Laurent received the award for his outstanding support for CAIA’s mission and for his efforts to raise the standards of knowledge, ethics and professionalism in the area of alternative investments. He has been an active member of the CAIA Association since 2004, Head of the CAIA Canada Chapter and a member of several CAIA programs and committees. He was involved in creating the Association’s first Academic Partnership, with HEC Montréal.

He holds a BSc and an MSc in Economics from the Université de Montréal, and also did postdoctoral studies at the University of California. He is responsible for the Specialized Graduate Diploma in Financial Professions at HEC Montréal and has taught in this program since it was created in 2009. Mr. Saint-Laurent earned his designation as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) in 1995 and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) in 2004. He regularly collaborates on specialized publications and chairs, moderates or speaks at a variety of conferences and events.

The CAIA was founded in 2002 and has over 6,500 members in 80 countries. The Association is dedicated to education, professionalism and ethics in the alternative investment area. It has 17 international chapters and sponsors more than 120 educational and networking activities every year.
