New Program for Managers in the Film, Television and Interactive Media

November 8, 2012

The Regroupement pour la formation en audiovisuel du Québec (RFAVQ) and the HEC Montréal Media Centre are pleased to announce the creation of an intensive program for managers working in the fields of film, television and interactive media.

The one-week program, entitled Les défis du chef d’entreprise en audiovisuel, will be offered in January 2013. It will give participants an opportunity to discuss the major issues that are transforming this sector, as a way of enhancing their management skills.

The themes discussed will include the challenges of growth in the audiovisual industry, the challenges of entrepreneurship, evolving business models, production company management and how companies can differentiate themselves.

Les défis du chef d’entreprise en audiovisuel will be given jointly by Sylvain Lafrance, Director of the Media Centre, and André Provencher, President and CEO of Fonds Capital Culture. They will be supported by various HEC Montréal professors and audiovisual industry experts.

“HEC Montréal has a number of management experts who are interested in the audiovisual field,” says Sylvain Lafrance. “This collaborative venture is an excellent chance to meet the different players and for everyone to broaden their networks.”

Lucille Demers, Executive Director of RFAVQ, says that she is very happy to see this first project taking shape. “This program meets the need for audiovisual professionals to be better equipped to meet the changes and innovations occurring the industry, by helping them understand its new management and entrepreneurial realities.”

The intensive Les défis du chef d’entreprise en audiovisuel program will be held on-site at HEC Montréal, from January 14 to 19, 2013.
