New Decelles building saluted

October 23, 2012

As part of the first Facteur D event, held on October 16, HEC Montréal and Provencher Roy + Associés Architectes were among the 47 finalists selected in the Architecture category, for the renovations to the Decelles building. The new building was one of close to 90 projects chosen by an international jury. In its deliberations, the jury considered not only design quality but also the economic and social impact on integrating design in a project and in corporate strategy.

Facteur D aims to help companies and organizations better understand the economic and social benefits of architecture, design and urban planning. More than 500 individuals attended the inaugural event held at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.

Another honour for the Decelles building

The Centre for Effective Learning Environments (CELE), part of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have also paid tribute to the work done on the Decelles building, by including the project in their Best Practices in Educational Facilities Investment database. The database, created in September 2011, currently includes over 135 educational institutions around the globe.
