July 19, 2012

Professor François Carrillat has been awarded a 2012 Outstanding Reviewer Award from the Emerald Literati Network, for his exceptional contribution as a scientific reviewer for the Journal of Service Management. The award was presented by Ken Hyde, representing the Emerald Group, at the 2012 Asia-Pacific Association for Consumer Research Conference, held in Queenstown, New Zealand, from July 6 to 8.

The Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence are presented by the Emerald Group, which produces some 200 English-language scientific and professional publications. The award received by Mr. Carrillat, an Associate Professor of Marketing, recognizes the important role of scientific reviewers in ensuring the quality and reputation of learned journals. The winners are selected by the editors of the journals in question.

Professor Carrillat in fact won the same award last year, for his work as a reviewer for the European Journal of Marketing. Along with his colleague Renaud Legoux, he was also presented with the Best Paper Award in Marketing at the 11th International Conference on Arts and Cultural Management, in Belgium, for their paper entitled “You Could Charm the Critics and Have Nothing to Eat: A Meta-Analysis of the Effect of Gatekeep ers on Motion Picture Performance.”

In 2008, he received the Best Reviewer Award from the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice. The following year, the Society for Marketing Advances presented him and his two co-authors with its 2009 Best Paper Award for an article in that publication: “Examining the Impact of Service Quality: A Meta-Analysis of Empirical Evidence.” Also in 2009, Professor Carrillat won the Young Researcher Award from HEC Montréal.
