Catherine Major, a final-year student in the Master of Laws, Taxation Option (LL M) program, received a $2,000 award from the Canadian Tax Foundation on May 31, for achieving the highest GPA in the program in 2011-2012.
The LL M program was founded in 1998, and is offered jointly with the Université de Montréal Faculty of Law. Some sixty students enrol in it every year, and 361 have graduated from the program since it was created.

Founded in 1945 as an independent tax research organization under the joint sponsorship of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Canadian Bar Association, the Foundation provides a unique forum for lawyers, accountants, academics and other tax professionals to work together for the betterment of the Canadian tax system and the tax profession in general. It has over 10,000 members.
