A team from the School takes 2nd place in the Best in Class Invitational Case Competition

November 16, 2011

On November 12, at Ryerson University, MBA students Simon Edward Brown, Stuart Pattillo, Savvas Pilarinos and Nikola Vukov took second place in the Best in Class Invitational Case Competition organized by the Toronto chapter of Financial Executives International Canada (FEI Canada). The HEC Montréal team, coached by MBA Lecturer Bruno Delorme, will share a $5,000 prize.

First place went to a team from the Alberta School of Business, with a team from the Haskayne School of Business, in Calgary, coming third. MBA Program Director Michael Wybo pointed out that the School's students started the MBA program only last August. “Their showing is all the more remarkable and praiseworthy," he noted, "in that most of the members of the other teams were close to graduating from a two-year program, while ours are only in their 12th week. They turned in an outstanding performance, and we are very proud of them.”

Note that only 12 teams from Canadian universities were invited to enter the sixth edition of this competition. For more information, see the news item published on November 7.
