580 Graduates Ready for New Challenges!

HEC Montréal saluted the accomplishments of its 580 Master’s-level graduates at the graduate convocation ceremony held in Théâtre Maisonneuve at Place des Arts. The ceremony, a popular event with students and their families, was attended by Michel Patry, the School’s Director, Hélène Desmarais, Chair of the Board of Directors, Secretary General Jacques Nantel, directors of different programs, many faculty members and Geneviève LeBrun, President of the Association des diplômés.

Tribute was also paid at the graduate convocation ceremony to Louise Dulude Séguin, who was made Professor Emeritus to recognize her exceptional contribution to the School and her academic career spanning more than three decades.  

In addressing the new graduates, Michel Patry emphasized the role that managers have to play in society. He urged them to be responsible, upstanding and committed managers and citizens.  He told them that, as they progressed in their careers, their doings and actions would have an impact on the lives and happiness of a growing number of people. He said that they must always remember that their responsibility would always be commensurate with their influence.

The MBA, with a total of 257 new graduates:

The EMBA, with forty new graduates

The Master of Laws (LL. M.), Taxation option, with 26 new graduates

Eighteen students were awarded Master of Science (MSc) in Electronic Commerce degrees

There were 239 new graduates from the Master of Science (MSc) in Administration program, comprising 19 specializations
