Over $7,000 Raised in 5 Days

April 4, 2011

After five gruelling days of living under homeless conditions, five HEC Montréal students can be proud of what they achieved. The 5 Days for the Homeless campaign was a great success and a tribute to people’s generosity. Our brave participants managed to raise over $7,000 in donations – the entire amount of which will go directly to partner organization Dans la rue.

The five BBA students say they are happy with their experience. “Five days really isn’t much in terms of showing how others live all year round, but it was certainly quite an experience. We are really happy to have taken part. Every moment we spent in those conditions gave us more insight into the tough reality of daily life for many people. Aside from the money we raised, we hope that this campaign will raise awareness of a problem that afflicts many young people in our society,” said Jean-François L’Écuyer, co-organizer of the campaign.

HEC Montréal was taking part for the fifth time in this Canada-wide campaign. All in all, over $208,000 was raised for various organizations helping the homeless across the country.
